Karna was one of the greatest warriors, generous donors, and tragic heroes of the Mahabharata. He was the eldest son of Kunti, born through the blessing of the Sun God, Surya. At birth, Karna was blessed with divine armor (Kavacha) and earrings (Kundala), which made him extraordinarily powerful and difficult to defeat. Fearing social disgrace, Kunti placed the newborn Karna in a basket and set him afloat on a river. He was later found and raised by Adhiratha, a charioteer, and his wife Radha. Because of his upbringing, Karna was often called the son of a charioteer. From an early age, Karna dreamed of becoming a great warrior and archer. He faced many obstacles because of his social status, but he continued his pursuit of martial knowledge. He eventually became a powerful warrior and mastered many divine weapons. Karna's talent and bravery impressed Duryodhana, who made him the King of Anga. Duryodhana and Karna became close friends. Karna remained loyal to Duryodhana throughout his life and never forgot the favor he had received from him. Karna was also famous for his extraordinary generosity. He was known as Daanveer Karna because he rarely refused anyone who came to him seeking a gift. According to the famous tradition, Indra, the father of Arjuna, came to Karna disguised as a Brahmin and asked for his divine armor and earrings. Knowing that giving them away could make him vulnerable, Karna nevertheless gave them away as an act of charity. Before the great war of Kurukshetra, Kunti revealed to Karna that he was actually her eldest son and the elder brother of the Pandavas. She asked him to join the Pandavas. However, Karna refused to abandon Duryodhana because of his loyalty and friendship. During the Kurukshetra War, Karna fought against the Pandavas and eventually faced Arjuna in a great battle. Both were extraordinary archers. During the final confrontation, Karna's chariot became trapped in the ground. While Karna struggled to free it, Arjuna, following Krishna's guidance, attacked him and Karna was killed. After Karna's death, the Pandavas learned that he had actually been their eldest brother. They were deeply saddened by this revelation. The story of Karna is a powerful tale of courage, generosity, friendship, loyalty, sacrifice, and fate. His life remains one of the most complex and memorable stories in the Mahabharata.

कर्ण महाभारत के एक महान योद्धा, दानवीर और पराक्रमी पुरुष थे। वे कुंती के ज्येष्ठ पुत्र थे और उनका जन्म सूर्यदेव के वरदान से हुआ था। जन्म के समय ही कर्ण को दिव्य कवच और कुंडल प्राप्त हुए थे। लोकलाज के भय से कुंती ने नवजात कर्ण को एक टोकरी में रखकर नदी में बहा दिया। उनका पालन-पोषण हस्तिनापुर के सारथी अधिरथ और उनकी पत्नी राधा ने किया। इसी कारण कर्ण को समाज में सूतपुत्र कहा गया। कर्ण बचपन से ही महान धनुर्धर बनना चाहते थे। उन्होंने शस्त्रविद्या प्राप्त करने के लिए अनेक कठिनाइयों का सामना किया। बाद में उन्होंने भगवान परशुराम से शिक्षा प्राप्त की और एक अत्यंत शक्तिशाली योद्धा बने। कर्ण की वीरता से प्रभावित होकर दुर्योधन ने उन्हें अंगदेश का राजा बनाया। दुर्योधन और कर्ण के बीच गहरी मित्रता थी। कर्ण ने जीवनभर अपने मित्र के प्रति निष्ठा बनाए रखी और उसके उपकार को कभी नहीं भुलाया। कर्ण अपनी दानवीरता के लिए भी प्रसिद्ध थे। कहा जाता है कि वे किसी याचक को खाली हाथ नहीं लौटाते थे। इंद्रदेव ने ब्राह्मण का रूप धारण करके कर्ण से उनका दिव्य कवच और कुंडल मांग लिया। कर्ण ने बिना किसी संकोच के उन्हें दान कर दिया। महाभारत के युद्ध से पहले कुंती ने कर्ण को बताया कि वह वास्तव में उनके ज्येष्ठ पुत्र और पांडवों के बड़े भाई हैं। उन्होंने कर्ण से पांडवों का साथ देने का आग्रह किया, लेकिन कर्ण ने दुर्योधन के प्रति अपनी मित्रता और वचन को नहीं छोड़ा। कुरुक्षेत्र के युद्ध में कर्ण और अर्जुन के बीच भयंकर युद्ध हुआ। दोनों ही महान धनुर्धर थे। अंततः युद्ध के दौरान परिस्थितियाँ कर्ण के विरुद्ध हो गईं और अर्जुन के हाथों कर्ण का वध हुआ। कर्ण की मृत्यु के बाद पांडवों को पता चला कि कर्ण उनका ज्येष्ठ भाई था। यह जानकर वे अत्यंत दुखी हुए। कर्ण का जीवन वीरता, दान, मित्रता, त्याग और वचनपालन की एक मार्मिक कहानी है। उनका चरित्र महाभारत के सबसे जटिल और प्रभावशाली पात्रों में से एक माना जाता है।
